Opinion work undertaken by Andrew Sheard includes patent validity and infringement opinions and due diligence investigations.

Patent validity studies are carried out by reference to UK or European law as appropriate. Infringement opinions are given by reference to United Kingdom law. Using a network of established local agents in other jurisdictions, counterpart opinions may be obtained so that a global view may be formed.

Using the services of specialist searchers, patentability or freedom-to-use analysis may be undertaken.

Other services include due diligence investigations, typically for companies prior to their making acquisitions in which intellectual property plays an important part, and analysis of oppositions and other conflicts involving third parties.
