BIOGRAPHY


Andrew Sheard established his practice in 2000 specialising in bioscience patent matters. Previously he was a partner in Kilburn and Strode where he chaired their practice in biotechnology and pharmaceutical patents.

He has a natural sciences degree from the University of Cambridge where he read Natural Sciences (Part ll: biochemistry). He also has a law degree from the University of London.

Mr Sheard joined the patent profession in 1978 and qualified professionally in 1981 since when he has advised a diverse clientele, including multinational and specialist start-up companies as well as investors, universities, government departments and research institutes.

Mr Sheard is a past Chairman of the Intellectual Property Advisory Committee of the BioIndustry Association, on which he still serves. He is also a member of CIPA's Biotechnology Committee. He is a frequent public speaker on patents in the biosciences.
